Vicenza Cub Scouts Get a Hands-On Look at Physics
Recently the Webelos Scouts of the Vicenza Pack 295 Cub Scouts spent an afternoon with Vicenza High School teacher, Eric Torrence, immersed in fun and educational science experiments. The scouts were working on completing the requirements to earn their activity pin for Scientist and needed to learn about some basic Physics concepts and theories. Mr. Torrence, a Mathematics and Physics teacher, engaged the boys in some exciting hands-on activities to test such ideas as Bernoulli’s Principle, Pascal’s Law, center of gravity and how inertia works. The Scouts learned how these basic Physics concepts work in everyday life. The boys enjoyed their afternoon of learning and hope to continue this beneficial partnership with Vicenza High School and are all ready to sign up for Mr. Torrence’s Physics class.
