Alabama Encampment 2008 at Talladega Superspeedway
Scouts from Pack 404 joined over 10,000 other Scouters at the Alabama Encampment at Talladega Superspeedway on November 7-9, 2008. The Scouts were allowed to camp in the infield area of the race track. Approximately 60 scouts and parents attended from Pack 404. Five of the Webelos camped with Troop 404 in the Boy Scout area to complete requirements for the Arrow of Light.
Although the overnight temperatures fell into the mid-30's, the participants enjoyed many activities, exhibits and shows throughout the midway area. The activities ranged from a Native American dance to a military flight simulator. Saturday night saw a performance by the Alabama Blues Brothers and a fireworks show.
