Hot Wheels Derby / New Parent Orientation

New parent Orientation night will be August 30, 2007 at HUMC in the Sanctuary.
The Hot Wheels Derby is a great event that brings together our veteran Cub Scouts and the new Cubs that will have just joined. It is run by our Den Leaders in the Fellowship Hall of the church while the Cubmaster and other Pack volunteers talk with the NEW cub parents in the Sanctuary about the Pack, our events, Dens, the Council and the all important division of new boys into specific Dens and the recruiting of Den Leaders for each new Den.
This event runs from 6:30-8:00 p.m. There will be cheering, laughing, playing, racing and even prizes awarded for the fastest cars. This is not a rigidly run event like the Pinewood Derby. No computers, no bracketing, no stress and anxiety, just the fun of friendly competition and the joy of sharing a good time with friends.
This is our Crank it back up Event for the Cubing year 2007-2008. Soon after this event your Den meetings will start, the Pack committee will start meeting, the Cub Scout Fishing Rodeo will take place (Sept. 14-15 at Oak Mountain), Cub Leader training will take place (Sept. 8 at HUMC), and we will have our kick-off Pack meeting (Sept. 20).

All Scouts are invited to come and participate in a Hot Wheels Derby during the Parent Orientation session. Bring your favorite Hot Wheels car and race it down our modified Pinewood Derby Track! We need volunteers to help with set-up, the race, and clean-up.
