No siblings younger than 8 years old please (Tiger Cubs are OK). ALL Scouts must be accompanied by a Parent or Adult Partner.
No Pets or Dogs. Please wear close toed shoes only (that you don't mind getting wet and muddy), and long pants. Be prepared to be outside for the duration of the project, and bring your own water bottles.

Information:
Save the Bay will work with us and our Scouts and volunteers on this project, and will give an educational presentation on Environmental Stewardship.
Save The Bay is partnering with East Bay Regional Park District on a wetland restoration project at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Shoreline, near the Oakland Airport. This urban area includes some of the last remaining wetland habitat in the East Bay, including 50 acre Arrowhead Marsh, and provides a home for many species, including the California Clapper Rail and Burrowing Owls. Since 2000, we have been working with the help of schools, community groups, non-profit organizations, and corporations to revegetate salt marsh habitat through planting native wetland plants and removing non-native invasive species. Volunteers have also been assisting with our plant propagation efforts in our on-site Wetland Native Plant Nursery. To date, our volunteers have removed over 100,000 pounds of non-native invasive plants and planted over 40,000 natives, as well as removed over 70,000 pounds of trash and recyclables.
