What: Scouting For Food Flyer Dropoff. This is a BSA nationally supported service project that we annually participate in with Troop 202.
When: Saturday, November 8, 2009, 9AM to Noon

Where: Montclair Elementary Teacher's Parking Lot
1757 Mountain Blvd.
Show up at this location at 9am, and you will be assigned to a group of boy scouts and cub scouts for a route to cover, dropping off flyers at houses for the assigned route.
Bag Pick up will also be occurring on Saturday, November 21st from 10am to 2pm, so, if you cannot participate on the 14th, the 21st is also available. Recognition will be given to all cub scouts who participate.
As you know, one of our Pack's main service projects during the year is the Scouting for Food Drive. The food we collect is contributed to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Each month, the Food Bank’s network of over 300 hunger-relief agencies provides approximately 120,000 meals to low income and working poor families, children, the elderly, abuse survivors, people with AIDS and the homeless. Scouting for Food is the single biggest source of food donations for the Food Bank. As you may have heard, this year the need is even greater - donations to the Food Bank are off sharply, while demand for food is up significantly - the shelves are often nearly bare.
