January Overnight on the USS Hornet!

Ahoy Scouts!
What: USS Hornet Live Aboard Overnight with Troop 203 When: Friday, January 9, 2009, 5pm to Saturday, January 10, 2009, about noon. Where: USS Hornet Museum, Pier 3, Alameda Point, Alameda, CA.
We have the opportunity to spend the night on the USS HORNET as a junior crewmembers! We will:
* Sleep in restored berthing compartments where the real HORNET crew lived * Enjoy dinner and breakfast in the Crew's Mess * Learn about this famous aircraft carrier's daring exploits * Explore the key areas in the ship and the historical naval aircraft on board * Learn about NASA's Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 space missions that put the first humans on the moon * Ride the flight simulator - experience what it's like to catapult and fly from the carrier * Play shipboard games and hear sea stories * Participate in night watch * Earn a special crewmember patch & certificate!
Along with Boy Scout Troop 203, we have reserved 30 spaces for scouts and adults on the evening of Friday, January 9th. The cost is $60 per person and includes meals (more information is available in the attached file (see below) or online at http://www.uss-hornet.org/groups/overnightscouts/).
This is a very popular event and space will be allotted on a first come - first served basis, so please email Fred Konkel (fkonkel@gmail.com) to secure your berths as soon as possible. Also, payment is due by December 15 so Fred will need a check by then (instructions will be sent in an email confirming your reservation).
