January Pack Meeting - Pinewood Derby and Cake Auction
Date: 1/21/10 - 1/21/10
Time: 4:30PM - 8:00PM
Location: Graystone School
January is a favorite time of the year . . . when the boys get to build and race their hand made Pinewood cars. This event begins with time trials to rate and ensure all cars are in compliance with regulations. At the designated time, races will begin. Awards will be given for fasted and best decorated in a variety of categories.
Time trials begin before the actual races. Once your car is inspected, you MUST leave it in the secure area & wait until the races begin.
The schedule for last year was: Scouts arrived at 4:30 pm to begin testing their cars. Final check-in was at 5:30 and the races will began at 6pm SHARP. The races & awards ceremony ended at approximately 8:30pm. The race guidelines for 2010 will be attached to the calendar entry for the 2010 Pinewood event.
Dens can brig their own food if they wish to eat at this event.
Also, during the Derby we will probably be hosting our annual Cake Auction. Proceeds from the 2010 Cake Auction will benefit Friends of Scouting. Cake Auction details are attached below.
This "mandatory" pack event is hosted by the the Pinewood committee. (Attendance at "Mandatory" pack events counts towards the perfect attendance award. Boys who miss no more than one pack event and one den event in the school year receive a “perfect” attendance award.)
