Campout at Lake Dixon (Dec 2)

Date: 12/2/06 - 12/3/06
Time: 2:00PM - 12:00PM
Location: Dixon Lake in Escondido

Campout at Lake Dixon

Saturday, December 2. Check-in after 2:00 PM on Saturday. Check out by 12:00 PM on Sunday.

We have reserved 11 sites on a cul-de-sac. It's a great spot, on a hilltop, with views of the lake on one side and Escondido on the other side. The site numbers are 25-26, 30-33 and 46-47 (see map: http://www.ci.escondido.ca.us/glance/lakes/dixon/camping/map.html). Each site allows us to have 2 vehicles, 4 adults, and 4 kids. We can add a few more campsites if needed.

For more info on Lake Dixon, check out their we site: http://www.ci.escondido.ca.us/glance/lakes/dixon/index.html

This campground is on a lake, and is only 30 minutes from home. You can fish (bass, bluegill, trout, catfish), rent a row boat, go hiking, climb on the rocks, or just enjoy the scenery, which is pleasant. Swimming is not allowed. Tents or campers are fine, but our sites do not have hookups. Drinkable water is available. We'll try to have a big campfire in the evening. Last year the rangers allowed us to have a big campfire at the amphitheater, and maybe they will do it again this year.

This is a bring-your-own-food campout. Maybe we can have a big potluck on Saturday night.
