Pinewood Derby 2006 - Photos!
The biggest event of the year - Pinewood Derby.
Once again the scouts of Pack 750 showed incredible creativity in designing their cars and amazing skills in cutting, sanding and painting their designs. Who would have thought a simple block of wood could be transformed into a sleek racer, a pickup truck, a military vehicle, a school bus (!), the Batmobile, or even... a watermelon slice?
Pack 750 is fortunate to have a top quality Pinewood Derby track complete with electronic timing, automatic display of the finish order and computerized race management.
Thanks to the scouts for putting their hearts into this race. Thanks to the leaders for putting their time into making it happen. Special thanks to John "Mission Control" Scarpelli manning the computer (and carting the track around), Joan "HotGlue It" Carr running check-in and Paul "The Judge" Krebs for organizing the special awards. Thanks to all the parents for making sure the cars got built and the paint was almost dry by race time...
