Pack 824 gets MIDWAY MAGIC
Scouts from Pack 824 got a taste of the high seas when they spent the night aboard the USS Midway in San Diego Harbor. Retired crew from the famous carrier escorted us throughout the ship, from the Bridge and PriFli (Primary Flight Control) 4 stories above the flight deck, through the Admiral's quarters, Officer's Country and finally below the waterline to the Engine room. We ate like the crew, slept like the crew and sweltered like the crew in monsoon-driven summer thunderstorms. All in all we all learned a small taste of what nearly 10,000 active sailors and officers are experiencing every day across the bay at the USS Nimitz and the USS Ronald Reagan.
