Birdwatching in Topanga State Park
Sunday May 7, scouts from Pack 824 converged at Topanga State Park to take a birdwatching hike with Ken, a tour guide with the park. The early "June gloom" in May put a small damper on the bird activity, but the pack still identified 21 different bird species and spotted a nest of White-tailed Kite. Later the pack saw the white-tailed kite and a red-tailed hawk hunting in the thermals. The tiger cubs pitched in, identifying several roly polies and stinkbugs!
