Fall Pack World Camping 11/14-16/08
Date: 11/14/08 - 11/16/08
Location: Hillsborough River State Park
There is a camping list on the pack site for those who haven't camped in awhile.
If you have a telescope or binoculors to bring please do!!!
If you have any questions or if your plans change please call Michelle 748-5151. If you would like to come or can't come please call. The boys need to know how many to prepare for and there is a wait list for camping, so please let me know if things change either way.
Campers: Friday Night - Show up at HRSP. The ranger will tell you where you need to park and from there you will carry your gear to the site. Scouts have been placed on one of the 4 youth sites to evenly distribute the tents per the ranger. Please see Michelle to know where to set up. If you will not be arriving before 7pm - Call 748-5151 (Michelle) No shows spaces will be given away at 7:30 if we do not hear from you. You can arrive and set up anytime on Friday.
Dinner on your own or arrange it with your den.
6ish - Tim will be working with the boys on fire safety and starting a campfire then we will have fun around the fire with songs, stories and s'mores (bring your own s'mores supplies) night hike for those who are interested and ....
7:55 - shuttle launch!! we will be working on astronomy Beltloop and possibly pin.
SATURDAY: 8am - breakfast on your own
9am SHARP - Leave No Trace program begins at the rec hall - Day Campers let the ranger know you are here for LNT and they will direct you there.
10am Fishing program w/Ranger will earn fishing beltloop. We will split into 4 groups at this time too.
11am - campers choice. The ranger will be conducting tram tours and guided hikes, or you could go on a hike of your own, or work on rank specific activities. Throughout the campout be sure your akela or leaders know what you have completed so that you can be awarded at the next pack meeting
Noon - lunch on your own and then meet at the youth site at 1:30 for rotations 1:30 rotation 1 2:30 rotation 2 3:30 rotation 3 4:30 rotation 4
Each group will have 45 minutes at each time slot where they will do the following:
Map/Compass beltloop and possibly pin Raingutter Regatta Weather Beltloop Wildlife conservation beltlloop and work on campfire skit
4:45-6:30 - Weeblos will be preparing for dinner. For those who are interested we will go over starting the campfire and getting the telescopes ready again. Rest, work on rank specifics, hike, write thank yous for the ranger (communicator beltloop)
6 or 6:30 Dinner by the Weeblos - hotdogs and sides. Please bring your own drinks
Following dinner - Astronomy for anyone who missed it or wants to do more & campfire ceremony - skits, songs, s'mores
SUNDAY: Breakfast on your own - pack up at your own pace
Practice LNT - clean up hike for those who are interested

Check your books for rank specifics, I looked thru my sons weeblo book and found:
WEBELOS will also be earning:
2 requirement for naturalist (pg 319) learn about food chain and wildlife beltloop
Communicator pg 167 they could write an artical about the trip for one req. and if its printed would help the 148 earn a pack reward too!, they could each plan a 3 minute talk to the den to share for another req
Outdorsman badge - pg 344 will complete this badge which counts as the 3rd badge for them to ge thier weeblo badge!! Readyman badge
Scientist - weather beltloop is a req
Traveler - map and compass is a req
