Visit AD Barnes Nature Center

FAMILY CHECKLIST
We're excited that our pack is visiting A.D. Doug Barnes Park Nature Center
(Saturday May 31, 2008)! You will remember this park is where we held our
Blue and Gold festivities. While we are at the Nature Center, we will have
the opportunity to do bird watching, fishing, see a presentation on snakes,
and work on various achievements with Den Leaders. We will also be able to
cook our own lunch in the great fire ring we saw at the Nature Center.
Everyone please add your name to the list of attendees at next week's
meeting Tuesday 5/13, and bring $5 per person for the Nature Center fee for
the Animal Show and Nature Walk. We need everyone who will attend to sign
this list to get a count of attendees so we can buy enough food for lunch
(which the Pack will provide at no cost!).
We are meeting at A.D. Doug Barnes Park Nature Center promptly at 9:15am,
please don't be late. Please note that we are meeting at the park not at
Eugenia B. Thomas. The Nature Center is located at the back of A.D. Doug
Barnes Park, 3701 SW 72 Ave, Miami Fl 33155.
BREAKFAST: Please eat breakfast in the morning before you leave for the
park. Breakfast will not be provided, and we will not have time to eat at
the park before our exciting day begins.
After we arrive and take attendance, we will meet the park ranger who will
be our guide.

The Nature Center is at the very back of the park.
The following is a list of items you should bring on the trip. Check off
each item in as you pack:
HEALTH/FOOD:
_X_Lunch will be provided by the Pack (a "pocket pizza" made from pita bread
and various pizza toppings + marshmallows to roast)
Note: if you have dietary restrictions, or want something else for lunch,
you are welcome to bring your own
___Snack: if you want an extra snack, please bring it with you
___Water bottle you can bring with you
___Sunscreen
___Insect repellent
___a plastic garbage bag to pick up any garbage from lunch, etc.
CLOTHING:
___Class B uniform
___Poncho in case it rains
___Durable shoes that are good for a hike
___Socks
DEN ACTIVITY MATERIALS:
___Scout handbook
__Your son's Den leader may ask you to bring special items to work on their
achievements.
IMPORTANT: Please ask your Den leader if you need to bring anything to the
Park on Saturday and write it here...

___Fishing pole/tackle/bait (NOTE: a fishing permit is not required when
fishing from the bridge at the Nature Center)
