Family Fest
Date: 5/2/09
Time: 10:00AM - 2:00PM
Location: Kitland Nelson Park in Apopka
Family Fest May 2nd 2009
On May 2 2009, the Boy Scouts of America in the Apopka area will be having an event known as Family Fest where we partner with the Apopka Fire departments and their Exploring program. This event allows all the different packs and troops that reside in Apopka and the surrounding cities to showcase what it truly means to be a Scout and why we as a community should embrace and continue to support such a prestigious organization.
The goal is to have as many people in the community come out and visit us on that Saturday, so that they can get a real understanding of what scouting is, what it has done and how much fun it is for our youth.
We will be having about 2 dozen packs and troops that will be in attendance and each will have a booth set up on the Kit Nelson Property. They will be showcasing different scouting activities as well as just other fun things that they do int their packs and troops. Examples include Carnival Games, Health and Fitness, Fossil Casting, a velcro wall, Putt Putt Golf, Boy Scout Jeopardy and much much more.
We will be open to the public from 10am until 2pm Saturday May 2nd. Lunch will be available from 12 - 1 pm. The Order of the arrow (who are the ones who best exemplify scouting) will be grilling Hot Dogs, Burgers, etc. for a reasonable price.
