Picking Up Trash on the Trail
Cub Scout Pack 270 Wolf Den 4 braved the cold and wind to have fun participating in Frankfort's Earth Day Celebration. We started out at the Public Works Garage for coffee, donuts & juice. There we picked up gloves and plastic garbage bags. Then we headed over to the Old Plank Trail. We picked up garbage from White Street almost to Elsner and including Route 45 on either side of the bridge to the east. We all found some interesting "garbage" like hub caps and grills along with the usual paper, plastic and styrofoam. In the process we talked, goofed around and had fun doing work.
Then we all met at Heritage Hall for lunch consisting of pizza, drinks, brownies and frozen custard. It was a great day. This activity went toward achieving requirement D of achievement #7.
