Rocket Power
On Saturday, April 1st, we had our April Den Meeting/March Den Outing. Everyone gathered at Dave Sesterhenn's house to construct rockets. Then after going for lunch, everyone reconvened at a park near Dave's to shoot off the rockets. These babies flew over 350 feet in the air before the nose-cone popped open, a parachute of sorts came out and all floated back down to earth. The explosion of the power pack was exciting for all.
After the rockets were successfully launched a few times, everyone gathered at the Route 30 entrance to the Hickory Creek Forest Preserve where we did an approximately two-mile hike. John Dugan brought a deer skull that he found on a recent hike on the same hiking trail last month. Some thought it was cool and some thought it was gross but all were interested in it.
