Scouts Enjoy A Thrilling Science Show
Our scouts really enjoyed the "Wonders of Science" show put on at Fermilab. They got to see what happens when you put things like light bulbs, CD's, foil wraped packages and ivory soap in a microwave; stuff they would like to try at home but would get in a lot of trouble if they ever did. They saw the effects of dry ice in liquids and liquid nitrogen in dry ice and in liquids; lots of fog. They saw how bubbles float in carbon dioxide instead of slowly falling to the ground because CO2 is more dense than air. And of course what would a science show be if something didn't blow up.
Later we all went to see some live buffalo that are kept on the grounds of Fermilab. Maybe someday we'll go back to hike the prairie paths.
