Pinewood Derby and Picnic is August 12th - Click Here for Potluck Info and What to Bring

Our 3rd annual pack picnic and pinewood derby is on the calendar for Sunday, August 12th from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. This year the fun will be at Boy Scout Park which is on the grounds of the Plainfield Park District offices in central Plainfield (across from the Plainfield outdoor pool).
In addition to the extremely popular pinewood derby event, we will have rotations to the baseball diamond, the fishing pond, and the playground. We will do a pot luck style picnic at the pavilion as well.
Purchase your derby car kits at The Chalkboard stores, some area craft stores, or take a ride out to the LaGrange BSA scout store (see the link below for address). Also, click on the link below to print the official pinewood derby rules. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes by RANK (not den) and overall pack. CARS THAT DO NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIRED SPECS WILL RUN IN A "NON-CONFORMING" GROUP AND ARE INELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES!
Potluck assignments:
Check your e-mail for the specific potluck food category for your scout! Any questions, call the Food Chairperson, Helle-May Cheney at 815-254-7629.
What to Wear and Bring:
Leaders should wear the official uniform shirt. Scouts should wear their Pack 91 t-shirt and their rank cap.
Bring your own fishing pole and tackle for the fishing rotation (we supply the bait). Bring your own baseball glove for the baseball clinic (we supply bats, balls, and helmets).
