Webelos Camp
Date: 7/27/06 - 7/29/06
Time: 11:00AM - 8:30PM
Location: Camp Naish
Hello Webelos Families,
Hope everyone is putting the finishing touches on those camp boxes and getting ready for camp. It’s coming up quickly. Please re-read you Camp Info. Sheets we handed out as well as the 2006 guide to review the coming events.
Here are some important reminders:
Wear Class A uniforms traveling to camp. They will also be needed for the camp photo and the Chapel service. We are staying with the BLUE shirts this year.
Water containers, bug spray and sunscreen are a must. Label them if you don’t want to lose them!
You will be cooking foil dinners in camp the second night so bring favorite spices to add.
Bring a WHITE T-SHIRT for tie dying.
If you want to purchase a Naish camp t-shirt or other souvenir bring money to spend at the trading post.
If you bring your knife you must have it in a folder and have your “whittling chip” card with you.
No food in the tents. Critters will invade!
We will have wagons to transport the camp boxes.
If you are bringing medications they must be labeled and kept locked up. We will leave this responsibility to the dads.
Departure Details:
We’ll be meeting in the Sears Parking Lot (used to be K-Mart) at I-435 and 87th street at 11:00 AM and pull out at 11:15. Official arrival time at camp is 12:00 but we want to get there early to get a good parking spot. It is a hike to camp.
Please let Mike know if you will be meeting us at this location or not.
Plan to call him if you are running late that morning and need to drive to Naish on your own. 913-484-6290 –cell phone
I have received health forms for dads and scouts from almost everyone. HAVE THESE WITH YOU if you have not turned them in. You won’t be admitted to camp without these!
Family Night Details:
You may begin to arrive at camp at 5:00PM with a picnic dinner for your whole family. This includes scout and dad! They boys will want to show us around a bit. Flag lowering is at 5:55 followed by dinner. We will all eat together at the boys’ campsite. The Closing night campfire is at 6:45PM. Families are encouraged to attend. Camp closes by 8:30 PM. Please make sure everyone wears tennis shoes or other close-toed shoes as you will be walking quite a bit. I have been told that the terrain is uneven so strollers are not a good idea.
Here is the tent mate/buddy list. This is your son’s tent mate, swim buddy, KP Partner and head count partner:
Josh / Keller
Josiah / Austin M.
Nichol / Chandler Tyler / Keaton
Austin I./ Cole Caleb / Weston
