SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IN JANUARY

Dear Wolf Parents,
I wanted to give you a heads up here, as Camp Registration for our now Wolves - and then to be Bears is really different than last year's Day Camp Registration. Here are the details I have as of now:
1. On January the 7th I will participate in a "draw" to pick our top 3 choices for a date for our Bear Camp. It will either be one of the 3 choices...
(June 22&23; June 27&28 or June 29&30).
2. However, I need to find out from you who will be able to go to camp...along with your $45 registration fee per individual (and a parent must go with them...so this would be $90 for a scout and one parent)...in order for me to pick a date per to the January 7th draw date...to register our den. (You can just pay a non-refundable deposit of just $20 per person now, and then pay the rest later).
3. Once I get a date, I will then let you all know which date this is.
I know this sounds "backwards" and very early to consider Summer Camp, however this is just how the Heart of America Council does it. Apparently, there are a lot of dens wanting particular dates, so they do the draw...but then want to make sure these slots are truly reserved, so they require the registration at the time of the "draw."
LIKEWISE, because this is would be their 1st official Cub Scout Overnighter a parent is REQUIRED to be with them during the camp. So the registration would be $45 per person (so $90 for 1 scout and 1 parent). If this is a financial hardship to get this to me before January 7th PLEASE let me know, and we will make arrangements, because we don't want anyone not going to camp because of finances, and/or because of the "so early registration" time period.
SSSOOOO...if you wouldn't mind getting to me the following...
1. If your boy is going to Summer Bear Camp this year.
2. Your $45 registration fee per person before January 7th (or the $20 non-refundable deposit per person).
Here is a link to the BEAR CAMP information listed on the Heart of America Website, which I have heard MANY awesome things about this camp from everyone I have talked to, so this should be a wonderful time!!!!
