Wolf Den 2
Christmas Party - At Providence Community Church

Date: 12/13/07
Location: Providence Community Church

Hey Folks,
Becaue of the bad weather this last week we moved our den meeting over to 12/13 and it is at Providence Community Church (check the Wolf December Update for directions on how to get there). During this meeting we are going to be:

1. Making Christmas Ornaments out of leather and using some leather working tools to do so.

2. Working on some of the achievements in the Wolf book. (Parents, I would encourage you to use the "Wolf Trail" on pages 234-235 as a help to see 'big picture' of where your scout is...remember we would like for each boy to earn his wolf rank by the Blue and Gold Ceremony in February...and I think this will help you see where they are at and what needs to be done before then. It might even look like a lot, but it really isn't. Much of the achievements for the Wolf year are done more independantly rather than at a den level like our Tiger year. So jump right in!)

3. Also, bring a Christmas cookie or goodie to share!

Thanks again! Take care, Matthew ***SEE BELOW THE ACHIEVEMENTS YOU AS A FAMILY ARE TO BE WORKING ON THIS MONTH!!***

Achievements For This Month!

1. All of Achievement #10 – “Family Fun” (pages 88 – 93) I would encourage you to use this month of December with all of the activities around Christmas to incorporate these events. Note: 10c is accomplished when we did the hike at the Overland Park Arboretum. 10f can be accomplished by going out to see a Christmas program at your church, etc.

2. All of Achievement #11 – Duty to God (pages 95 – 99) I would encourage you to do this as a Christmas activity with your family as we set our hearts and minds on Christ – the “reason for the season.”

a. Likewise, if any of you would like to work on the “God & Me” – (Protestant) Religious Emblems Program that you see on pages 98 – 99. Please contact me, because I will be taking Christian through this and as a pastor I can do this for whoever else would like to as well. This is a very simple program that helps the boys explain the basics of the Christian Faith. – If you are interested please contact me and I can get you more information.

3. Achievement #6 - “Start a Collection” (6a-6b) – and we will do 6c in the January den meeting – where the boys can have a time of “show and tell” of things they have collected.
