Tiger Cub Den 2

Tiger Badge Requirements
Date: 8/23/06
Hello Tiger Cub Families,
A big part of Cub Scouts is earning badges and other awards. Every month at our pack meetings we present awards to the boys that they earned in the previous month. The scouts are always very proud of themselves!
There are a TON of awards that your boys can earn, and it can very quickly become overwhelming. In this e-mail, I will outline the main award that the boys should be working on between now and February.
The main thing the boys should be working on is their Tiger Badge. Our plan is to award every boy their Tiger Badge in February at our annual Blue and Gold Banquet (this is our yearly big dinner for all the families).
The Tiger badge is earned over the next 3-4 months. Many of the requirements we will complete during den meetings and go-see-it activities. Some of the requirements must be done at home with you. It is very important to remember that in Cub Scouting a boy earns a requirement when the parent decides he has done his best to complete that requirement. If a scout misses a den meeting where we worked on something as a group, he can simply do that requirement at home with his parents.
In brief, there are 5 main requirements:
1. Making My Family Special 2. Where I Live 3. Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe 4. How I Tell It 5. Let's Go Outdoors
Each of these 5 requirements has 3 activities - a family activity, a den activity, and a go-see-it activity. Each time a boy finishes one of these activities, they earn a bead. Once all 15 beads are earned, they have earned their Tiger Badge.
Again, if this is confusing, don't worry about it. After the first one or two den meetings all of your questions will be answered! The main thing to remember is that everything we do is all about the boys - making sure they have fun and learn something.
