Camping at Hershey Park
Members of Pack 209 conducted their first summer camping trip at Hershey Highmeadows Campground in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Pack arrived at the campgrounds, located just 1 mile from Hershey Park, on Friday afternoon. Several members relaxed in the campground's pool after helping set up the campsite for the weekend.
Saturday morning, after a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and juice, the Pack headed over to spend the day at Hershey Park. While there we visited the Chocolate Museum, learning how chocolate is made.
The pack then returned to the campsite early evening to a dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and applesauce. After dishes were cleaned and put away, the boys and their dads made s'mores.
Sunday morning the pack rose early, broke down the campsite, packed the Pack's equipment into Miss Debbie's van and headed home by 9:30. Everyone had a great time, although some of us did get a little sunburned.
