Please let us know if you are able to participate by replying to this e-mail ASAP so we can get a head count for supplies and planning.
Activities will include Hiking Trail Weenie roast Smores Fun, Games and much more.
Additional Information This is a family event so any child coming will need to be accompanied by an age appropriate parent or guardian. If you would like to attend but do not have a tent please let us know we will find an extra. There will also be plenty of leaders and older scouts around to help with tent set up. For any adults or children with food allergies it will be safer for you to provide your own food. Please make sure all leaders and scouts are in their full class A uniforms. If you can bring firewood let me know. Due to changes in the camping guidelines for BSA I will need a signed activity consent form from all attending parents. I will have them on the day of the camp out for all to sign. Tentative Itinerary 3PM- Meet at Poolesville IWL 3:30PM Set up camp. 4:30 PM Family Hike 6:00PM Back at campsite Finish setting up camp, firewood detail, dinner set up … 7:00PM Dinner, clean up etc 8:00PM Smores and stuff Following morning pack up and clean up. Everyone is on their own for breakfast. Suggested Packing List Tent Sleeping bag Flashlight with extra batteries. It gets dark real dark. Lantern Cooler if you plan to bring your own drinks. (there will also be drinks provided) Proper sleep attire, Remember it gets colder than you think out there overnight. Change of clothes for the next day. If you choose to have breakfast you will need Breakfast Items, utensils and stove. If you don’t have a stove there will probably be a couple around you can use and there is always the fire. Bug Spray Hot Dog/ Smores stick. Though at least two leaders will have a first aid kit. It is always wise to have a small one of your own when camping. I would also suggest allergy medicine and Benadryl. The campgrounds are in the deep woods. That’s all I can think of, if anyone else has any other suggestions let me know.
