Who knew that there were more than 100 police officers at the airport?
Well, there are, both sworn officers and community service officers who, among other things, are responsible for traffic control. We saw their offices, their gym, their lunchroom, the jail, the computerized fingerprinting equipment, the drug lab, their weapons locker, their bicycles, and Officer Mitch Goecke's police dog, Flynt (who is Dutch and is given his commands by Officer Goecke in Dutch!). Flynt, when released into the exercise room, found the explosives that he's trained to find in a matter of seconds! Many thanks to Commander Mike Everson (also Cubmaster of Pack 92 in Hastings) and Officer Goecke for their hospitality and a great tour (and for validating our parking - what a treat!).
