It was a great day for fishing!
Webelos Scouts Tycho Amyx, Raamie Ebrahim, Radik Hoffman, Ross Pikkarainen, Chris and Jesse Quaderer, Marshall Reimler; Bear Torin Hilgenfeld; and Bear Den Chief Robert Pikkarainen joined about 75 other Metro Lakes District Scouts for a morning of fishing. A Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer talked about fishing rules and what the DNR does to preserve and improve out state's fisheries. Then the Scouts divided into groups to learn how to cast, to race minnows, and to fish in the Lake Calhoun Lagoon. After hot dogs, chips, laffy taffy, and lemonade, everyone left with a bag of great fishing stuff - and a free fishing pole!
