O V E R V I E W Once again we will be heading for Stokes for our annual Fall Campout. This year’s theme: “SURVIVOR” — a fun twist on our usual campout games that will put your Scouting Skills to the test. The game will culminate with a program at the Pocono Environmental Center where we will go through a team-building “Challenge Course” and enjoy a program on “Outdoor Survival Skills” that will teach real “survivor” skills.
Prepare for tooth rot courtesy of the ever popular Crazy S’mores and gear up for what is sure to be a load of fun at our campfire. If you have a talent (guitar, magic, etc) please bring it along. Scouts are also invited to prepare skits or “clean” jokes.
Directions and packing lists are available using the links below.
C A M P O U T R U L E S >>> BYO tent, sleeping bag, toiletries and clothing that can get wet. Make sure to bring warm clothing—it has gotten COLD at night, even when steamy in the day. Also pack several changes as the kids are notorious for playing in the stream.
>>> Each Scout must be accompanied and supervised by their own parent, and sleep in a tent with their own parent. No smoking or alcohol.
>>> NO POCKET KNIVES PLEASE!!! There have been too many incidents where parents have not supervised these so we must outlaw them.
>>> Do not bring your own food unless you have special dietary restrictions – NO FOOD IN TENTS, as it attracts bears. We will serve dinner and breakfast, please eat lunch before you arrive.
***********PLEASE NOTE: We have repeatedly asked parents NOT TO SMOKE (this includes cigars) on campouts. This is a requirement made by the campground. Continuing to ignore this request will mean that WE COULD LOOSE CAMPING PRIVILEGES at the site so please respect the rules.**************************************
