BSA Youth Protection Training
Date: 7/16/08
The Boy Scouts of America offers excellent training for parents and scouts in protecting our children by way of their official "BSA Youth Protection Training" programs.
Age-appropriate training materials are available by clicking the official BSA links below.
Printed versions of all training courses are also available, however, when you complete the online courses, a record of completion is automatically noted and there is no need to send anything into the Pack or BSA.
Both scouts and parents can register for training, however, the "Youth Protection Training" link below (www.olc.scouting.org) is meant for adults. There are also materials available for scouts called "Power Pack Pals" and other BSA produced materials.
Although Youth Protection Training is recommended for ALL scout parents, completion of the Youth Protection Training course (online or printed) is required if you are attending any camping location (day visit or overnight visit), or if a parent is taking scouts (other than your own children) in your vehicle, or if parents are responsible for scouts (other than your own children) to trips out of town, or to local events & places such as the zoo, etc.
This training is in addition to the Protecting God's Children training (see web site home page for PGC link).
To get started, click the second link below, go ahead & register (if you are not already), and follow the steps to the online Youth Protection Training course. You can start & stop the training, and it will remember where you left off. You will get a "green light" signifying completion of the course.
Other great training course are also available as you will see after you register. Thank you.
