Halloween Pack Meeting - Important Food Notice
Date: 10/30/09
Time: 7:00PM - 9:00PM
Location: OLV - Father Rugal Hall
UPDATE:
Pack Halloween Party Friday 10/30 7:00pm Beware, Be There!
Please read this entire Notice.
Halloween is upon us and our annual party will be lots of fun if everyone pitches in to setup, run fun stations, supply snacks and clean up.
Scouts should come in costume! Siblings, parents and Leaders are urged to dress-up too! Costumes can be simple, elaborate, homemade, or store bought. Please leave weapons home. Carrying things is dangerous in the crowd and makes it hard to play all the games.
There is a need for volunteers to help setup and /or run the fun stations. We will be having Freeze Dance, Mummy Wrap, Tattoo, Boongo (bingo), Craft and Skill Toss, stations. All are easy to run; some may need more than one adult/teen to operate smoothly. We have gathered the supplies for each station. Don’t just come and stand around get involved
We will start to set up 6:00, those running the stations should arrive 6:30 for instructions. The party/meeting will begin 7:00 sharp! We will need to cleanup and set the room afterwards as well.
Everyone is asked to bring the following items being assigned by den:
(Keep in mind severe peanut allergies exist in our Pack) Never nuts or peanut butter products.
See previous e-mails or follow the school guidelines. If not sure of a food item, don’t bring it.
Tigers – cupcakes, cookies, brownies
Wolves – cupcakes cookies brownies
Bears – pretzels, popcorn, chips
Webelos I – Water, Juice
Webelos II – cups, plates, napkins
You are not expected to bring enough for all, but if we all bring enough, it will take care of all!
Please e-mail Mary Del Balso at marydel@optonline.net with your family name, den, what you are bringing, and how you can help!
This is one of our most popular Pack Meetings each year!
See you there!

To All:
One important request for the upcoming Halloween party and any future den/pack meetings and events: Not new news, but there are kids with food allergies in the pack (and siblings) so people bringing in snacks/candy should be asked to please avoid items with peanuts and tree nuts (e.g. cashews, walnuts, pistachios, etc.). There are plenty of fun options out there that avoid nuts! If someone still feels the need to bring items that have nuts, those items should be clearly marked: "warning - contains nuts" and be away from safe snacks to avoid cross-contamination. Entenmanns, mom/pop bakeries are typically not good options. Homemade items can be tricky - the chocolate chip cookie ingredients may be safe, but someone may have made peanut butter cookies in the same bowl right before or stuck a knife with peanut butter on it into the jelly jar. If anyone in the Pack has a question or is not sure about a particular item can contact my wife, me, or John Natoli directly. While it is a minor inconvenience for most, it is a life/death situation for some. Thank you, Al Sadowski P.S. I'd appreciate it if the attached article can be distributed. It went out in the Wayne schools last year.
