Pack 108 Fall Baseball & Picnic Event - WOW! WHAT A DAY!
WOW! WHAT A DAY! HOPE YOU ALL HAD AS MUCH FUN AS I DID!
Softball Report - Anticipating the greatest game ever - Fans were actually bringing chairs and settting up before the game(they were there for swim lesson sign up anyway). We even got them to do the wave once.
Both teams were hot (literally). What a pitching Duel ! What a battle! Moms hitting better than dads- doubles, triples a few home runs, base stealing, trick plays, and even one or two errors. And that was all before the game got really tight! We saw things I thought you would never see in a softball game (and probably for good reason).
In fact Mr. Lee pulled a football blocking play, I thought was illegal, but just one night later the same play (stolen from us of course ) was pulled by the Astros against the Mets (wish I were Kidding).Unbeleivable!
Final score of our 2008 Pack 108 Softball Extravaganza…25 – 25… (Called on a count of a slight deluge), again Unbelievable!
I wish you could all have been there to see it ! Thanks for the sportsmanship of all who participated, we are looking forward to the next fun extravaganza!
PICNIC Report – rumors of bad weather did not stop Pack 108! In fact after 12 noon, the weather continued to improve until, it could get no more perfect.
Burgers, hot dogs, popcorn, chips, watermelon, salads, brownies, and strawberries were part of the FEAST! (I don’t like to talk but …did you see the size of that grill?!)
Football, Basketball, water volleyball, swimming, diving, (even a cubmaster bellyflop) were all part of the activities! I think, I might have spotted some napping on the beach! Seemed almost as if we had the Lake to ourselves!
Thank you all for hanging on to the hope of good weather (and not hanging me, when I said the picnic is still on) it was all the collective positive energy that changed the weather.
THANK YOU- to all the Picnic participants, and anyone who brought food to share (or a tent). The kids and grown ups had so much fun, I predict this will become an annual event!
Still tired,
Cub Master Del Balso
