Webelos Parent Talent Survey
Date: 5/23/06
Dear Webelos Scout Parents, The Webelos program is quite different than that of other Cub Scout programs, in that the older boys are tasked with more difficult skills and challenges to achieve badges and the Arrow of Light Award. These achievements are a growing and learning process that will allow the scout to be exposed to a varity of differents fields, jobs, hobbies and skills. This will not only prepare them for the Boy Scouting journey, but may lead them to a lifelong skill, career or hobby. Since the program is more difficult and requires certain skills from the instructor, we want you as parents to participate in the den meeting in areas that you have interests and skills. In the fall, Webelos Leaders will be asking the scouts which achievements they would like to work on. We will be also asking parents to take the lead in these learing experiences during the meetings. Please take time this summer to fill out the attached form that we leaders will use to gage your skills and hobbies and try to match them with your scout's learning requirements. You can turn the survey it to your Den Leader at any time including the first den meeting. It can be filled out in Acrobat electronically and emailed to your leader, should you wish to do it that way. Help make your son's experience a great one and also get the satisfaction of helping other boys in the den. Believe me, they will remember your effort and the things you taught them when they look back at their Cub Scouting experience.
