May's Parent Planning Meeting Minutes

Ÿ Treasurer’s Report - We have approx $1,000 in bank.
Ÿ Trainer’s Report - Baloo, Wood Badge, OWL, On-Line
Old Business:
Ÿ Recharter Confirmation - 35 boys have re-chartered
Ÿ Centennial Award Requirements (Attached) This is what we are working toward instead of the Quality Unit awards.
Ÿ April Pack Event - Rock climbing
Lots of fun. Something to consider doing again.
Ÿ Crossover camp out theme/ideas
We decided to do a Canoe Trip. We will set up at the Moore property then caravan/car pool over to Camp Hi. I am trying to determine a departure time, but they haven't called back. I am shooting for a 3:00 departure, but that is their latest departure time. We will have a picnic dinner when we return. Hot dogs/hamburgers and sides. We will let everyone know what to bring - either a side dish or a dessert. As we are preparing the food, the boys can play kickball or fish (with a parent).
Ÿ Spring clean up - May 12 10:00-4:00
Hopefully paint the white barn, cut up a tree, cleanup trash on the property. (show up whenever if you can't be there all day, lunch will be served. Let's show the Moore family how much we appreciate the use of the facility.
Ÿ Aurora Cub Scout Leader Social May 12 7:00 (please let me know if you plan to attend so we can give Maria Stafford an idea of how many to expect. This does not commit you or prevent you from coming if plans change)
Bring your own beverages and a appetizer/dessert to share They have also asked if everyone could bring a chair.
This is for adults only so we can mingle and share ideas freely without worrying about what the kids are doing.
Ÿ Spring Rally - May 16 5:00-7:00 OLPH Anyone that can attend will be appreciated. The boys can talk to the potential scouts about scouting.
Ÿ Posting of the flags at the Aurora Cemetery May 25 4:00
meet at the City Hall parking lot and we will walk up with the Mayor. Please have the boys in Class A uniform. There are 120 flags to post.

Ÿ Summer Activities - Ideas? Dates for events?
a. July Theme -- Rockets Red Glare July 14 and raindate July 15 let's say 3:00 unless that is a problem for people.
b. August Theme -- A Century of Scouting - At 3:00 the Moebius Center is hosting a pond dipping event. I think we should support this local treasure. Everyone will have to sign up through the Moebius Center. We can hike down to the pavilion and have another family picnic. Maybe we can do chicken or something besides hot-dogs and hamburgers since we just did that at Crossover.
Ÿ Sept Camp Out ideas? Theme is "Cub Scout Express - All Aboard" We could do a bike hike along the canal towpath. The train will stop by and pick us up with our bikes and take us back to the station. it is $2 per person. I don't know if we need to purchase the tickets ahead of time, or just flag the train. I'll get more details so we can figure out if it is something we want to do. The Sept camp out is scheduled for Sept 29 at the Moore property. We could do the bike hike/train ride and head back to the Moore property again. Just another idea to consider.

Ÿ Update on Pack computer we just need to get the software. I am going to pass the computer along to Peter so he can handle it from here.
