2005 Pack 3380 Pinewood Derby Race
BATH -- Pack 3380 raced again at their fifth annual Pinewood Derby race Saturday, February 19, 2005. The event took place at the Montrose Zion United Methodist Church. Twenty-six Cub Scouts raced again this year. The Scouts ranged from Tiger Cubs to Webelos. The racing enthusiasm was high throughout the two and a half hour event.
The Scouts line the bottom side and front of the racetrack to see which car finished first. Each Scout was given the opportunity to race his car 17 times against two other Scouts. After the 170 races, the third place position had to be decided with a run off between two Scouts, Joe Lombardi and Scott Saffle.
The top three places went to the following Scouts: Jacob Heffernan, first place; Ryan Chapman-Smith, second place; Scott Saffle, third place. The Scouts will be receiving their trophies at the Pack's Blue & Gold Banquet Tuesday, March 08, 2005.
