5/29-31 Cub Scout Day Camp
Date: 5/29/09 - 5/31/09
Location: Camp Butler
Are you ready for Cub Scout Day Camp?
This year's Day Camp, with the theme of "Everyday Heroes," will be from July 29 - 31 at Camp Butler. Friday evening, July 31, is Family Night. The boys always have a GREAT time at camp. We hope to see many of them there.
Here's the stuff parents need to know...
* I am coordinating the Day Camp for Pack 3385 this year. If you have any questions or need help with anything, please do not hesitate to call me at 330-668-2071 or email me at pacathome@aol.com.
* Each camper must have a completed registration form, health information form, camper release form and the camp fee of $60.00 (make checks payable to Pack 3385) turned in to the Pack by June 5th to register with the Pack and insure a spot at camp. You can turn them in at the next Pack meeting, or contact me, I will be sure to get them from you by the deadline. * Each camper registered with the Pack will receive a t-shirt, camp patch and a water bottle. * Campers will be given a swim test on the first day to determine their swim level while at camp. * Camp is from 7:45 - 5:00 each day (July 29th, 30th and 31st). I will be happy to help arrange car pools, please let me know if you are interested. * Family Night is Friday, July 31st. There is a picnic from 5:00 - 5:45 and a campfire from 6:00 - 7:15. Each camper must have an Akela with them to stay for the Family Night events. * Forms will be available at the next Pack meeting or on line at the Old Portage District web site. The email address is http://oldportage.org. Click on "Upcoming Events" in the top right corner, then scroll down to "Everyday Heroes Day Camp." There is a "General Information Brochure" and a "Forms" option. Double click on either of those you need. There are more forms than you will need, please make sure you print out these three -- Registration Form, Health Information Form and Camper Release Form. If you would like to obtain a copy from me before the next Pack meeting, please give me a call.
We Need Chaperons!
The boys can't go to camp without chaperons! Please check your schedule and think seriously about helping out. The boys love to see you there! If you can stay for a day, a half a day, or all three days, it all helps. Your duties will include acting, painting, marching, singing and having fun with Scouts all day. If your scout has a sibling that would enjoy Day Camp, they can attend if you are a chaperon. There may be a nominal fee, I will check into it and will be able to let you know in the future. I do know that siblings are welcome if a parent is chaperoning. Please contact me if you are able to chaperon. I will also have a sign-up sheet at the next Pack meeting. Chaperons are also required to submit a Health Information Form (use the same form as the Scouts).
Again, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments.
See you at camp!
