HIKING CLUB
JOIN THE HIKING CLUB!
Date: 9/18/08
Join the Cub Scout Pack 1 hiking club. Each month (or at least at regular intervals during good weather)we'll take a hike nearby. Our club is open to all members of the pack, and of course to their families. Get outside! Breathe the fresh air! Make friends! And of course, HAVE FUN! You can see a lot of really cool things when you travel by foot.
The club is free, and you can earn cool things along the way. On your first hike, you'll get a log book to keep track of your mileage. After every 5 miles, you'll receive a sticker in your book, and something cool to show off to all your friends. (Sorry, parents! The awards are for the kids. But you'll be rewarded when you build your fitness and have fun with your son.) When you've accumulated 50 miles of hiking with the club, you'll earn your very own walking stick.
We're kicking off with our first hike at Alverthorpe Park on 9/20. If you miss it, you can join at any time. This is all about fun and getting outside. We just want you to come out with us! Check the hiking club calendar for future hikes. Suggest a hike by contacting Lori Shields.
