The Cubmaster’s main responsibilities are: 1. Work directly with the pack trainer, Tiger Cub den leaders, Cub Scout den leaders, Webelos den leaders, den chiefs, and pack committee chair and members to make sure all dens are functioning well. | 2. Plan the den and pack programs with the help of other leaders. | 3. Lead the monthly pack meeting with the help of others. Involve all dens in some way. | 4. Lead pack activities, with the support of other leaders. | 5. Assistant Cubmaster

The Assistant Cubmaster’s responsibilities (as designated by the Cubmaster) are: 1. Help the Cubmaster as needed. | 2. Be ready to fill in for the Cubmaster, if necessary. | 3. Participate in pack meetings. | 4. Supervise den chiefs and see that they are trained. | 5. Work with neighborhood troops that supply den chiefs and into which Webelos Scouts may graduate. | 6. Help inform pack leaders of training opportunities and arrange for them to attend training sessions. | 7. Work with the pack committee to develop and promote an ongoing plan for recruiting new boys. | 8. Outings Member: 1. Helps the Cubmaster plan and conduct outdoor pack activities. | 2. Arranges for tour permits when required. | 3. Arranges transportation for pack activities. | 4. Helps Webelos den leaders plan outdoor den activities, such as overnight campouts. | 5. Ensures that BSA health and safety requirements are met. | 6. Makes sure that at least one adult has completed BALOO training before conducting pack campouts.

The Chartered Organization Representative’s responsibilities are to: · Help select the right leadership for the unit. · Encourage unit leaders and committee members to take training. · Promote well-planned unit programs. · Serve as a liaison between the unit and the organization. · Organize enough units. · Promote the recruiting of new members. · See that boys transition from unit to unit. · Help with the charter renewal. · Suggest Good Turns for the organization. · Encourage the unit committee to hold meetings. · Cultivate organization leaders. · Encourage outdoor program activities. · Emphasize advancement and recognition. · Utilize district help and promote the use of district personnel and materials. · Use approved unit finance policies. · Encourage recognition of leaders. · Cultivate resources to support the organization. · Represent the organization at the council level. | >> The chartered organization representative is the direct contact between the pack and the chartered organization. This individual is also the organization’s contact with the district committee and the local council. The chartered organization representative may become a member of the district committee and is a voting member of the council. To address these issues, we are collaborating with some of the most respected service organizations in the nation; the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, and Habitat for Humanity International, to provide volunteer opportunities for youth and adults to fight hunger, provide shelter, and teach the habits of healthy living. The Boy Scouts of America has a decades-long history of building better young men and women through service learning. To highlight this tradition of service, Good Turn for America will be the Boy Scouts of America national “Good Turn” from 2004 through the BSA’s 100th. Anniversary in 2010. As part of this national service initiative, the Boy Scouts of America will track the hours that volunteers, members, participants, and partner organizations contribute to the community. The Boy Scouts of America will announce these national totals each February as part of its anniversary celebration. (this is a non-voting position on the committee).
