Boys in 1st through 5th grade often join a pack at the beginning of the school year, but they may join at any time. Near the end of a school year, boys in Kindergarten are eligibile to join Tiger Cubs. (In the spring, 5th grade boys are transitioning to Boy Scouts and can consider joining a troop. We can assist you with troop information, too.)
How do parents choose a pack for their son? They often choose a pack where their son has friends and one that meets at a time and location convenient for their family.
A boy may join, and is welcome in, any pack he chooses. While most of the boys in Pack 24 attend Southern Elementary, membership is not limited to that school. We also have Scouts from Shrewsbury Elementary as well as home schooled Scouts.
Packs, like individuals, have their own personalities. Parents should choose one that best suits their son. To learn more about our pack, talk to some of our parents. We can put you in contact with the leader of the den your son might join. If you would like to visit a meeting before you decide, contact the pack’s representative listed below.
