Family Fun at Camp Bovay
Cubs and their families who made it to Bovay had beautiful weather and incredible fun. After setting up camp and devouring lunch, we had an action packed day. We started at the BMX track. Ask the parents what kind of cardio workout that track was for them! We moved over to the traverse climbing wall (and some hula hoop fun for some). On we went to the water park to cool off. Leaders Tom Johnston & Stephen Leeson were the only adults to join in the fun. They didn't get into too much trouble. The Pack then took a short hike down to the Fort for the BB shooting range, paddle boats, and (stationary) calf roping. Mr. Noon was very kind to provide us with sweet and salty snacks at that time. It was then time to hurry over to the Indian Village for archery and canoeing. Mr. Johnston did not want to leave the canoes behind. Some of the Noon family seemed to get enough of the water, after a small mishap. After supper, we roasted marshmallows, made smores and hot chocolate, tried a few skits, and told a few scary stories. Wood fires were not permitted due to the burn ban. We did manage to set up a propane "campfire" to keep with the traditional festivities. And it goes without saying, there was much running around of children with glo-sticks... long into the night.
