Law Enforcement is a Big Job
The Bears of Pack 330 joined the Webelos of Pack 367 for a tour of the BPD (Ach. 7b)! We watched a film presentation of training exercises and learned what the Police Dept. does to help people. Plus we saw the holding cells - we do not want to spend time there!
This meeting the Bears covered some of the requirements for Achievement 7. Read over the requirements of Achievement 7 to complete at home.
Police officers need our help as they work to protect us. We need to understand ways of taking care of ourselves. Crime has always been a problem everywhere. But we can do something about it. This achievement will help you understand how the police and others fight crime. It will also show you ways that you can help.
7a. Practice one way police gather evidence: by taking fingerprints, or taking shoeprints, or taking tire track casts.
7b. Visit your local sheriff's office or police station or talk to a law enforcement officer visiting your den or pack to discuss crime prevention.
7c. Help with crime prevention in your home.
7d. Be sure you know where to get help in your neighborhood.
7e. Learn the phone numbers to use in an emergency and post them by each phone in your home.
7f. Know what you can do to help law enforcement.
