Shaftsbury Tree Lighting
It was a cold and windy afternoon. The snow was frosting the branches of the Town of Shaftsbury Christmas Tree.
The Brass Choir played a couple of holiday tunes.
Mr Ken Coonradt gave a brief introduction (then ran off for a coat and hat).
Chris and Greg Jacobs played two holiday tunes on guitar (one was an original written by Chris).
Rev. David Smith gave a brief history of the Christmas Tree.
Tristan Shays and Aaron Hulett from Pack 330 lit the Christmas Tree.
We retired to the warmth of Cole Hall where we enjoyed refreshments (cookies and punch) provided by the Girl Scouts of Shaftsbury and listened to a few more tunes by the Brass Choir.
Santa Claus made a brief appearance and gave everyone in attendance a Santa hat.
Outside once more, everyone posed with Santa for a photo in front of the tree wearing our new hats!
Inside once again, the Girl Scouts and their leaders sang some Christmas carols while some joined in and others enjoyed the treats!
Some of the Cubs helped clean up the room when all was done.
A very enjoyable hour.
