Camp Sunrise 2009
Cub Scout Pack 330 visited Africa for a few days in July! The savannah was populated by giraffes and rhinos!
For all but one Scout who attended summer camp this year, it was their last at Sunrise. Our Webelos who attended Camp Sunrise were treated to the Webelos II program during our week long stay. There were a few differences from the typical summer camp program.
The Webelos learned special yells, went to places at camp most Scouts don't get to see, went on an over night camp with just Webelos IIs. We went on hikes, learned to build debris shelters, learned how to use natural materials to camouflage themselves, and tried to learn how to stalk quietly in the woods. They still had chances to fish, shoot at the archery and BB ranges, swim and produce craft projects.
The Pack earned the Polar Bear Award for having Scouts participate every morning in the polar bear swim.
And our leaders earned awards "In Recognition of Special Service" for completing a list of requirements in helping the Scouts and the Camp Staff.
We had a GREAT time!!
We're hoping there are Scouts and leaders willing to attend Camp Sunrise next year!!
