Pack Scrapbook

Fall Camporee

Pack 330 had a pretty good showing with 12 Scouts & 6 leaders plus parents present for camping or just to play the games. The Medieval Knights theme was reflected in the games we played. Pack 330 won the Overall Pack Award for the highest overall scores in these events!

Dragon's Lair - The team is blindfolded except the dragon's head. The dragon's head Scout leads the dragon's body through a course with Scouts holding each others waist. This was a timed event. It took our dragon 5 minutes to complete!

The Mine Field - One Scout leads his blindfolded team through an obstacle course of mines with verbal commands. This is a timed event where a step on a mine gives a 1 minute penalty. We made it through in 3 minutes 15 seconds.

Shield Thyself - The Scouts fill 15 water balloons to throw at their Cubmaster, aiming for the shield. We hit 12 of 15!

Flying Dragons - Each Cub built a dragon and flew it. Best distance of 3 was their score. Aaron H. had the longest flight of 16' 10" with Caden a close second with 13' 5".

Dungeon Escape - Four Cubs were handcuffed to trees. Tristan had to search for gold coins to give to the jailer for keys to unlock the cuffs. It took our team over 6 minutes to complete this jailbreak!

Quest for Knighthood - The Cubs had to complete 3 quests to receive their Knighthood. Thanks to good manners and listening skills, all were dubbed Knights of the Shaftsbury Wood.

Storm the Castle - The Cubs had to use a "catapult" to attempt to break down the Castle gate with a tennis ball. Despite a valiant effort and close calls, the Castle stood fast.

Holy Grail - The Webelos & Boy Scouts used a compass to locate the Holy Grail somewhere on the grounds of the State Park.

Lance Building - The Webelos along with the Boy Scouts built a lance displaying their knowledge of knots.

Archery - The Scouts tested their skills at the bow.

After a brief downpour, we attended the evening Vespers service after which the Scouts were treated to an exciting lesson in medieval battle skills by a troupe of re-enactors dressed in regalia from the 10th & 11th centuries. The Boy Scouts then entertained everyone with their own campfire skits.
