WINTER OVERNIGHT + Adventure Rocks!

This year we are going to try a new location, aiming to return to Rokilio in 2011.
In 2010 we will explore a Milwaukee Council hot spot, the Indian Mounds Scout Reservation, or IMR. The IMR is located on 300 acres 30 miles west of Milwaukee, on the shores of Silver Lake in Waukasha County. It affords multiple heated cabins, a shower house, a sledding hill (which MUST be safer than that one at Rokilio!), ski- and snowshoe-rentals, toboggan rentals, broomball on the lake, and more.
We will stay two nights and learn a bit about winter camping and fire-building.
We will have indoor programs to aid in advancement.
We will have a special clinic on knots and ropes, in part to prepare for Sunday's elective experience...
...a visit to Adventure Rock in Pewaukee! Adventure Rock is an indoor climbing facility, the largest in Wisconsin. They teach Boy Scouts Climbing Merit Badge and lead trips to Devil's Lake, among other things. They can handle dozens of climbing boys AND leaders on walls designed for EVERY age and ability.
We will move from IMR to Adventure Rock on Sunday before heading home.
The food is bound to be better than before, because I am not preparing the menu! :) Thuy and Kathy and friends will have feasts in store for us all, I am sure, and we will still finish Saturday night with s'mores...
