Pack 39 Constitution and Bylaws
Requirements for Leader Positions
The applicant must possess the moral, educational, and emotional qualities that the Boy Scouts of America deems necessary to afford positive leadership to youth. The applicant must also be the correct age, and subscribe to the Declaration of Religious Principle, and abide by the Scout Oath or Promise, and the Scout Law.
Leader Approval Process.
Leader application must be filled out. Leader questionnaire must be filled out. Interview by Cub Master and / or Asst. Cub Master 1st step in approval process if applicant is approved move to next step.
Interview by Committee Chair 2nd step in approval process if applicant is approved moved to next step. Interview by Charter Organization Representative 3rd step in approval process if applicant is approved moved to next step Application is submitted to BSA Council, with registration fee.
Position Descriptions and Terms
When anyone accepts the position they are under the understanding that they are committing to attempt to fulfill the position for the requested term. The follow position terms are set so that no key leader position are vacated at the same time to prevent a cascade effect of failure of the pack. Except in the event of an unforeseen circumstance, such as illness, death, or relocation or removal of leader due to violation of BSA rules and regulation or pack Constitution and Bylaws.
Terms: Cub Master - 3yrs term Assistant Cub Master - 2yr term Committee Chair - 2yr term Assistant Committee Chair - 1yr term Committee Member - 1yr term Committee Positions: Awards Chairman - 1yr term Treasurer - 1yr term Secretary - 1yr term Historian - 1yr term Media Relations - 1yr term Events Chairman - 1yr term Den Leaders - 1yr term
Position Descriptions:
Parent Responsibilities Parents responsibilities are: A. Transporting their child to and from den meetings and other activities. B. Parents must stay with their child during meetings and other activities unless other arrangements have been made. C. Parents should make sure that the child is properly attired and at the meeting on time. D. Any and all extra assignments are completed and turned in with in a timely manor. E. Behavior of each child is the responsibilities of the parent to comply with the Code of Conduct. F. Parents are responsible for the cost of the uniforms and books. G. Parents are responsible for dues, which are to be paid yearly or bi-yearly. H. Parents are expected to assist with events or activities for the pack. I. Participation in fund raising is mandatory in fund raising, other wise parents are finically responsible for all awards and advancement cost for their child.
Fundraising All fundraisers will be for the benefit of the pack. This will apply to the awards of the boys and for their cub accounts. Participation by each scout is required. Any fundraisers that require items to be ordered must be paid for in advance.
Dues Dues are $2.00 a week, this amount will be used for supplies for the boys for den projects. To make this more convenient for parents and easier to track in bookkeeping. This can be paid either yearly or bi-yearly.
Event Fees Any events in which a fee is to be paid is the responsibilities of the parent, and are to be paid for in advance. Unless the amount can be paid for out of the scouts Cub Account.
Camper-ships Camper-ships are a grant that is applied for thru Council office. One of the requirements are that the scout must have participated in a fundraiser event. This grant is to assist with a finical hard ship for resident camp.
